Come here to check out the famous Make Way for Ducklings ducks that are found in one part of the park. This is Boston's Central Park: not nearly as big or diverse, but an iconic spot nonetheless and you can take a Swan Boat ride from here, too. Take the Red Line to "Park" and you'll be on the Common!
You can sit in the park, go to the skating rink in the winter, lay out in the summer.
Boston Common is a central public park in downtown Boston, Massachusetts. It's the start of Freedom Trail. It is sometimes erroneously referred to as the "Boston Commons". Dating from 1634, it is the oldest city park in the United States.
All sorts of fun things happen on Boston Common, but our favorite is Shakespeare on the Common. Check online to see if they’re performing during your visit. Pack a cooler and a lawn chair (in the shed under the screen porch) and head in for the evening. It is soooo fun. Get there early for best seats. You may need to reserve online due to pandemic.
