Our favourite beach spot (shhh please don't tell everyone, as it's a well-kept secret). Dog-friendly beach areas all year round, easy carpark on the beach with a small cafe and public toilets. Best to check tide times and go at low tide for lovely wide sand flats, at high tide it's a less-impressive steep stony shelf!
Famous for its sand dunes on a few miles along the coast, just a short train ride or bus ride directly to this seaside town beaches
When you walk down from the cottage and arrive at Climping Beach you'll find many large concrete erosion protection fortifications/walls/boulders/groynes. Do not swim here as there are many hidden obstacles (especially at high tide). For the safest/sandiest place to hang out and swim - walk an extra 5 mins (eastwards) towards West Beach. After seeing the last large wooden groin and another big red/white sign for Climping Beach, you'll find clean, clear water and plenty of sand! Best to go when the tide is mid-way. We absolutely LOVE this spot and have had wonderful swims here! (weather permitting!)
