This hotel is located in a building that used to function as a prison. They have kept a few cells in their original form which you can go and see - ask the receptionist for directions.

Quite a few of my guests have been enthusiastic over the food in this restaurant Linnankellari - a former jail - and it's only a 5 mins walk away. "Best food on our journey" says Erika.

You can enjoy a restaurant lunch or evening meal in hotel restaurant "Linnankellari" in the premises of former Helsinki County Prison dating back to 1888. Before 2002 it was serving only its original clientele and after 2007 anybody, as a hotel with stylishly visible signs of its former use. Lunch is served 11-14 on weekdays and a la carte after 4 pm (from Tue to Sat). Merikasarminkatu 1.

Located in a beautiful neighborhood! This hotel used to be former prison (it closed in 2002). Have a drink and walk around the hotel.
