Well, I don't recommend the PLACE, so much as the Asheville Symphony Orchestra. For years this venue was called, simply, the Asheville Civic Center. But Asheville thought they could make more money they can waste, and now sell naming rights to the highest bidder. Anyway, this Center may have some entertainment that suits you. And check out the symphony's schedule, too.

Harrah’s Cherokee Center Asheville (previously the U.S. Cellular Center Asheville and the Asheville Civic Center) has a long and interesting history which dates back over one hundred years. HCCA is known as a quality venue that hosts a diverse variety of events that reflects the creativity, uniqueness, and artistry that Asheville is known for. With over 200 days of events and drawing over 225,000 people annually, HCCA continues to support the vitality of the region as a whole and the vibrant downtown of Asheville in particular.

Harrah's Cherokee Center can be a confusing name, since it isn't a casino or in Cherokee. It is, however, located in the heart of Downtown Asheville 6 miles away. This is a sponsorship namesake situation for a venue that hosts NCAA tournaments, nationally touring musicians/comedians and all around entertainment. Some of my favorite shows have been Alabama Shakes, Tyler Childers, John Prine and Dave Chappelle. Visit their website for upcoming shows and availability.
