The area provides lifeguards, facilities and a parking lot and is ideal for water-based recreational activities and hiking. Johnson Beach is still wild from Florida nature, not partying tourists. You will see pelicans and herons for sure. Go early in the summer to get a parking spot, though.
$25/week $40/year and can be used at all Gulf Island parks. Located just .3 miles away. Ample parking and picnic areas. 🧺
You do have to pay to visit , but great place to park and go see the beach. Also has a couple trails to walk.
