One of my favorite things to do on a beautiful day is to take the NYC Ferry. The cost is $2.75/ticket and transfers are free for 90 minutes. The easiest location to start from is Brooklyn Bridge Park Pier 6 (the Pier 1 stop is under construction spring 2021). Take the ferry 1 stop to Wall Street/Pier 11 and then transfer to a number of ferry options. The East River line will take you under the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges with wonderful views of New York City, Brooklyn and Queens. During the summer you can also take the ferry to Governor's Island, which is a favorite destination for locals. You can also take the ferry south to the historic neighborhood of Red Hook and get a great view of the Statue of Liberty. Buying tickets via the NYC Ferry App is quick and easy. NOTE: If you have young children, arrive to the ferry early and explore the fantastic playgrounds around Pier 6 "Swing Valley" "Slide Mountain" and in the summer "Splash Pad"

Part of the waterfront park - Pier 6 hosts an amazing playground, pizza place and free ferry to Governor's island. From here you can walk all they way to Brooklyn Bridge Park - a super scenic walk. From the Brooklyn Bridge, you can take the F Train (York Stop) back to Carrol Street Stop.
Nice walk along the water. Out door sports. Walk to Brooklyn bridge. Enjoy pizza and a drink. Take a boat to Manhattan, the beaches or to Governor´s Island in the Summer.
