Day 3 St. Patrick’s Cathedral If you’re trying to figure out what to do in New York City in 3 days and St. Patrick’s Cathedral is not on that list, then you’re missing out on something special. The cathedral was originally constructed in the second half of the 19th century in a beautiful (and striking) style. However, due to years of wear and tear, pollution, and acid rain the exterior started to crumble. The city decided to renovate the gorgeous building, both on the inside and out, and the renovation itself cost around $200 million. That might seem like a crazy amount of money, but once you step foot inside you’ll know that it was entirely worth it.
