You can go up and take a tour of the lighthouse during the summer season. Often you can see whales and other wild life. Plus, it is an interesting look into how the Oregon coast functioned 100 years ago.
Port Orford, OR - North of Gold Beach 27 miles. The turn off for this lighthouse is 3 miles north of Port Orford
One of two lighthouses here in Coos County. Located south of Coos Bay, this and our local Cape Arago lighthouse provide a fun and historic trip. Cape Blanco is open to visitors, but is further out-of-town than Cape Arago, which is closed but can be seen from the beaches at Sunset State Park. Another lighthouse is located North of Lakeside on Hwy 101. The Umpqua lighthouse is in Douglas County but can be see right of off Hwy 101 on the way to Reedsport. Look for signage.
