The Municipal Theater of Syracuse is a building located in Ortigia and is dedicated to theatrical works. It was inaugurated in 1897, remained in operation until 1962 when it was closed for maintenance work, and officially reopened for performances on 26 December 2016. It was Tommaso Gargallo who suggested the location of the new theater in Syracuse in what were the pre-existing Palazzo Bonanno Filangieri of the Princes of Cattolica and the Church and Monastery of the Annunziata, and with the law of 7 July 1866 the aforementioned area was designated for demolition.

Il Teatro comunale di Siracusa è un edificio sito in Ortigia ed è dedicato alle opere teatrali. Esso venne inaugurato nel 1897, rimase in funzione sino al 1962[1] quando venne chiuso per lavori di manutenzione, e riaperto ufficialmente agli spettacoli il 26 dicembre 2016
