Great to cycle to or drive by car and walk around the fort. The fort is part of the former defence line (De waterlinie) of the Netherlands, all the forts in this line combined has been the most expensive project in the Netherlands. At the fort there is a restaurant and a museum about the defence line of al the forts.

Utrecht heeft zijn Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie met tal van Forten met mysterieuze gewelfde ruimtes, prachtige natuur en slotgrachten. Fort Vechten is de een na grootste en heeft ook het Waterliniemuseum (check hun site want het is er echt leuk!
