"Villa Celimontana" is located on the western summit of the Celio hill and has its monumental entrance on via della Navicella, not far from the homonymous fountain from which the street takes its name, next to the Basilica of Santa Maria in Domnica, one of the first Christian temples in the capital. Since 1926 it has been a property of the municipality of Rome, which assigned the Palazzetto Mattei to the Italian Geographic Society, and has been a public park since 1928. A jazz music festival is held here, curated by the Villa Celimontana Cultural Association. Since the summer of 2012 a music festival "I Classici in Villa" has been held by the Alcatraz Association.
