Manitoba is a wine-producing province. Shrugging Doctor winery produces a surprisingly good dry white as well as a rosée using grapes produced in the Pembina Valley, near the US border. A bargain at $14/bottle, "The Great Vandal" 2017 is complex with citrus notes. Shrugging Doctor, despite the incongruous name and offbeat labels, produces a series of ciders, fruit-based wine, and meads.
