A unique 500 year old timber-framed hunting lodge built on the orders of Henry VIII in 1543 at the edge of Chingford Plains, part of the medieval Epping Forest. Take the train from Walthamstow Central Station to Chingford (3 stops) and turn right out of the station and up the hill to find it. Find out more about Tudor food and fashion. This amazing building has been here since Tudor times. You get a real sense of time when you visit. Admission is free and it is well worth a visit.
can walk 4 miles or so from our back garden through the woods to this area of chingford plain. if tired can always get the overland train 2 stops back to our local wood st station.
