There are two trails I like to run on from Arguello Gate: the Upper Ecology Lovers’ Trail to the Presidio Promenade and back, which is three miles and pretty moderate. The Lower Ecology Lovers’ Trail to the Batteries to the Bluffs Trail and to the Bay Area Ridge Trail covers the majority of the Presidio and is roughly 6.5 miles. It is a bit more advanced. Along the Mountain Lake Park Trail, which is to the left of the Arguello Gate, there are parcourse stations that include a chin-up bar and a balance beam. Each section comes with instructions on the workout; there are 15 stations total along the Mountain Lake Park Trail.

Don't miss a visit to the Presidio if you've never been. For anyone who likes nature, or military history, it's quite simply stunning. There are trails and beaches and discoveries galore. Recommend bringing layers, though, as the weather in SF can always change. There is also a public golf course.
Amazing for hikes and views of the bay and the ocean. The Presidio is massive, and is also home to unexpected features like several playgrounds, a bowling alley and at times a farmers market. A great space to explore and also nice for photos.
A 1,500-acre park on a former military post and a major outdoor recreation hub. It has forested areas, miles of trails, a golf course and scenic overlooks. Other highlights include grassy Crissy Field with Golden Gate Bridge views, Civil War–era Fort Point and sandy Baker Beach.
Nice hike along the coast and if you're lucky you'll get a great view of the bridge if SF isn't consumed by endless fog.
