Stand up paddle boarding is only second to surfing here in Newport Beach but it doesn't take any experience to be able to do it. Rent from these guys so you have better access to the bay side where there aren't any waves. You can use the dock or sand access on the bay to get in (any sandy spots you see you can use to get in, no trespassing issues). Fair warning...The boards are very heavy!
