If we head to the city, we love to spend a day or afternoon strolling around Ballard. After visiting the Troll Bridge, The Ballard Locks and the Burke-Gilman Bike trail, we love lunch at Ray’s Boathouse. Strolling the the main drag and side streets of Ballard is really fun. It is chock full of quirky vintage thrift shops, coffee shops, bookstores and pubs. It has charming sidewalk seating for many of the eateries. We love to stroll around and sample desserts from several of the unique desert shops like The Pie Bar, Salt and Straw and Salt and Sugar Bakery.

Ballad has tons of great restaurants, shops and breweries. Sunday farmers markets happen year round! Parking can be tricky, walk to south to Holman & Mary and take the D-line or 40 south to Market street.
Cute neighborhood. Some of the best restaurants and clubs all in a small area of downtown Ballard. A new big batch of beer breweries have cropped up in the last couple of years. Continue west to the Ballard Locks and watch the boats go through and tour the fish ladders
A great neighborhood to visit is Ballard. It is about 4 miles SW of here. In the heart of Ballard there is a downtown full of shops, bars, restaurants, coffee, theaters and more. Check out Sabine if you are looking for a unique brunch spot. Just West of downtown are the Ballard locks and salmon ladder. And a bit further on the coast is Golden Gardens. It is a beautiful spot to stop and hang on the beach.
