(27020 Tamiami Trail East) Big Cypress Bend Boardwalk. Massive old growth Cypress grove. A good stop on the way to Airboat tour
This is a wonderful hike on a Boardwalk Trail and just about 5-10 miles East of The Port... This is the Everglades! Period. While you are in the area also go to the Big Cypress Oasis Visitor Center and The Big Cypress Gallery. And don't forget to stop and do an airboat ride!
Boardwalk is an easy stroll through one of the remaining old-growth cypress swamps in South Florida. The boardwalk is in the center of a 200 acre tract that was not logged in the 1940's and many of the cypress trees are a few hundred years old. The boardwalk currently, dead ends at a spacious alligator pond.
