This is the National Library of Ireland’s main public building where you will find the Main Reading Room, microfilm reading room facilities, and our Genealogy Service. The Library’s main exhibition area, seminar room and café are also located in the main building.

The Library collects, protects and provides access to over 12 million items and will continue to do so for decades to come. Access is provided to the collections free of charge, at four sites and online to exhibitions and events and to reference and research reading rooms.The Minister for Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht is the member of the Irish Government responsible for the library.
