Rum 138 is a great spot to visit for a number of reasons. They sell kayaks and SUPS and other river gear and they can outfit you and carry you and a boat to a river adventure, they also have live music, food, and beer some nights of the week. The owner is also wonderfully knowledgeable about the ecology of the local water shed and local conservation efforts.

Amazing outfitter that will drop you in on the Sante Fe River and pick you up when done. You can visit each spring as you drift down the river on a tube, kayak, paddle board or canoe. Music and food on weekends!

They have tons of kayaks and canoes to rent. They also offer a drop off and pick up service so you don't have to try and paddle back up stream. They are locally owned.

Best place to rent canoes or kayaks and see the Santa Fe River. Leave from Rum island and forget your worries as you pass pristine blue springs, multiple turtle families, birds, and fish. Swim in the clear waters of July Spring, picnic, and float on down to be picked up and returned to your car. (you actually pass Ginnie Springs and can canoe in) My favorite day out! Rum 138 is very popular. CLOSED on TUESDAY. Make a reservation and mention The Main Cottage in Alachua.
