Bayonne is a city in the Basque Country region of southwest France, where the Nive and Adour rivers meet. Narrow medieval streets characterize the old Grand Bayonne district. Here lie the Gothic-style Bayonne Cathedral, with its 13th-century cloister, and Château Vieux castle. Across the Nive river in the Petit Bayonne district is the Musée Basque, a museum devoted to the region’s arts, crafts and traditions. Nice restuarants and boutiques somtimes there are antique markets too.

Get a taste of the Basque country in Bayonne! Famous for it's chocolate, ham and of course the famous " Fetes de Bayonne"
The capital of the French basque country, Bayonne is famous for its chocolate shops and medieval porticos. Well worth a visit at any time of year, the first week in August the town turns out in white and red for the "Fêtes de Bayonne", a multi-day street party.
Beautiful medieval city - wonderful architecture...famous for the Feria in the summer..... Home to Bayonne Ham - great food - the mouth of the Adour River....that winds it way from Sengresse all the way there. Historic alleyways...great cafes and restaurants...perfect place to amble around.
