York is a bit of a drive but it's a really beautiful and historic place to visit. Book into Jorvic, the Viking settlement which is under a shopping centre. The Minster is stunning and the shops are great.
What can I write about York that hasn't been said before? A city full of history, the Romans, the Vikings and a great medieval city, a hub of the North and home to the great York Minster. It's also a modern city with food, shopping and culture to offer. There's the National Railway Museum, the Yorkshire Museum, the Castle Museum, the Shambles, bus tours, walking tours and lots to keep you busy for days! In this guide, I will try to highlight some of the different ways you can enjoy York and discover some of the things you can do or see or even dip into the York gig scene.
