Owned by the late and legendary Daddy VGO, one of the first people to bring Jamaica’s sound system culture to London, this family-run record shop in the heart of Notting Hill is one of London’s oldest. You can often hear the thumping bassline from down the road, and its iconic red, gold, and green shopfront is hard to miss. Old vinyl, rare finds, homegrown music, and vintage reggae albums. If you’re in town for the Notting Hill Carnival, it’s worth dropping by their sound system to hear real authentic roots reggae.
