Sweet summertime in the Smokies can mean playing in the dirt and ruby mining. On our last visit, we found rubies and emeralds! The Ruby Mine owner, Peggy Maddox, told us new stories about my grandparents last time we went. :) She has a lot of knowledge of local history.
