Most people head to Étretat further south along the coast, but this small village two and a half hours from Paris has a more authentic feel. It’s full of old water mills and charming Norman cottages. It’s also home to the tiniest river in France, Les Veules, which you can follow along a path to the sea. The coastal walks in this part of Normandy are incredible. After following the tiny river toward the cliffs, continue to the next village, Manneville-ès-Plains, a good 50-minute walk on a path along the sea.

Beautiful place to visit, charming little town with a lovely walk along the river Veules. You can park your car and walk from the source of the river Veules to the sea. You can see the cressonieres along this walk. Cressonieres are water-cress beds that date back to the 14th century.
