The Regional Gallery of Palazzo Bellomo is located in Ortigia, the historic center of Syracuse. It was inaugurated in 1948 with a first museographic layout, but the current layout was only completed in the seventies. Today it exhibits works from Syracuse and the province. Among the collections kept in the museum it is worth mentioning the two sarcophagi of the Governors of the Reginal Chamber, Giovanni Çabastida and Giovanni Cardenas. In the rich art gallery, the Annunciation by Antonello da Messina from 1474 and valuable collections of sacred silver are preserved.
