Osmothèque

Osmothèque is the world’s largest scent archive. They preserve documents and reproduce thousands of perfumes from the past 2,000 years. My favorite, Cyprus, debuted in 1917 from the famous nose of François Coty. Coming here is a pilgrimage for perfumers, and some Parisians, too, since it’s located in nearby Versailles. Osmothèque offers regular guided tours called “perfume sessions.” Register in advance to assure your spot, and smell some of the 400 discontinued masterpieces stored here.
