The Piarg Gate /Piargska brána/ It stands on the south-western edge of the medieval town between two cemeteries. Located on the original route to Levice, it is the only remaining out of all the gates which used to constitute a part of the town defense system against the Turks in the second half of the 16th century. The small, originally renaissance building was redecorated in baroque style in the 18th century. The gate lost its significance after a new, broader road was constructed next to it. Now under the gate there is the narrow, peaceful street which runs towards Lake Klinger and the Open-Air Mining Museum.
