This summer (2024), my youngest son returned home after spending an extended period in Brazil, Bolivia, and Uruguay. He has always had a passion for South American cuisine, and this time, he was particularly keen for us to have breakfast at Loft—a place I’ve enjoyed many times before. Loft, located on Estrada Monumental, just a two-minute walk from our flat, has always been a favourite of mine. But this time, with my son’s insistence, we explored their South American-inspired options, especially their Acai-based dishes. Acai is a staple in Brazil, and it’s something my son has grown to love. It was clear that the flavours at Loft brought back fond memories for him, making him feel right at home despite being so far from South America. Though I’ve eaten at Loft many times, this particular visit was special. Sharing a breakfast that my son is so passionate about, in a place I’m already fond of, made the experience even more enjoyable. Loft continues to offer a wonderful atmosphere and a delicious, vibrant breakfast menu that perfectly captures the essence of South American cuisine.
