Jackson Lake Dam to Pacific Creek Boat Launch in Grand Teton National Park: Hop up to Grand Teton National Park for this five-mile Class I river float. Put in by the Jackson Lake Dam and take out at the Pacific Creek Boat Ramp. This stretch of river is very mellow and possibly one of the most scenic paddles in the country! South Park to Astoria: This section of the Snake River is south of Jackson. It is a 9 mile intermediate route, put in at South Park and take out at Astoria. This is a great place to hone in your river skills. The river has a deep single channel with eddies and waves to catch. Not recommended for families with smaller children. This section of the Snake is up to Class II water and can turn into Class III when water levels are high.
