An other reason that the beautifull village of Fodele is very known, is because it is the birthplace of the famous painter Domenico Theotokopoulos (El Greco). Domenico Theotokopoulos is widely known as one of the greatest painters of the Spanish renaissance. Do not miss to visit the little museum there. The entrance fee costs about €2.50. Ask for the opening hours: +30 2810 521440 Next to the museum, is a 14th century Byzantine church of Panagia (Holy Mother). A beautiful small church with unique murals.
