Dipsea Trail Head

Warum Einheimische es empfehlen

An up-and-down 15-mile round trip from Mill Valley, through Muir Woods, over Mount Tamalpais’s northern shoulder, to Stinson Beach. It’s the site of the famous Dipsea Race, held annually for those fortunate enough to gain entry. The route is a challenge for even the most accomplished runner—both the views and climbs will take your breath away. To make it a one-way, hop on one of Golden Gate Transit’s shuttles back to Mill Valley from Stinson Beach. Or summon a Lyft or Uber.

This trailhead takes you through beautiful wildflower meadows and waterfalls, plus affords great views of Stinson and Bolinas.

Forests, fern forests, streams, small waterfalls - just beautiful! It is a bit of a hike - and if you are not a fairly strong hiker, you may need to rest along the way. At one point, you'll need to climb up a short ladder to continue on the trail. You may want to bring a picnic lunch as there were great places to sit (on a fallen log or a rock overlooking the stream) and look at the scenery.

Best trail ever! Goes from Mill Valley to Stinson Beach. Lots of different terrain, spectacular views and microclimates. Start on Mt Tam, dip down into Muir Woods, head up and over rolling hills, land at the Pacific Ocean!
