Embark on a challenging yet brief hiking adventure to uncover historical gems and breathtaking vistas. Ascend to the mountain's peak for an autumn picnic, surrounded by vibrant foliage. Discover the perfect blend of history and nature in one unforgettable journey.
In Prattsville, Pratt Rock, known as “New York’s Mount Rushmore," offers a 3.1-mile round trip hike featuring a historical monument dedicated to Zadock Pratt, with summit views overlooking the valley with ample foliage.
A fun quick hike to a quirky site! Afterwards cool off across the street in the swimming hole "Pratt Rock Area."
An historical place and quite a steep hike, you'll get beautiful views of the valley from the top. Beware of Catskills insects and wild animals while on the trail. The trail has little to less marks, so daytime is definitely preferable for safety. You can also bring your furry little best friend with you. Because it's so steep, please bring extra water for you and your pups. It gets quite hot in the summer. Some people also carry walking sticks because the path is quite steep and narrow.
