Many travelers have heard of the USS Midway close by, but most haven't heard of the Maritime Museum on the Embarcadero. Beautiful old sailing ship the Star of India, a submarine, and other authentic old vessels and replicas (including a replica from the move Master and Commander).

Maritime Museum located in downtown that currently has a fantastic photographic exhibit "Fragile Waters" with works by Ansel Adams, Dorothy Kerper Money and Ernest H. Brooks II.
