It is only a short 20 minute trip to Kerry on the Shannon Ferries Kilimer to Tarbert Ferry. You drive into Kilrush and another 8km on to Killimer. Ferries about every 30 minutes in the summer and it's a great way to get across to Kerry. You're then only about an hour or so from Killarney, Gap of Dunloe etc.
