Vorne weg: Der Eintritt von 3€ sollte man auf jeden Fall "investieren", auch wenn man nur kurz im Museum verweilen möchte. Das kleine, ältlich wirkende Museum erstreckt sich über 2 Etagen. Es gibt viel zu entdecken. Der Schwerpunkt des Museums scheint auf den Weltkriegen zu liegen. Auch ohne Sprachkenntnisse kann man hier viel sehen. Uns als begeisterte Muschelsammler gefiel der letzte Raum auf der 1. Ebene besonders gut: Eine Sammlung von Muscheln und Meerestieren.

The Maritime Museum of Crete was founded in 1973 in order to accommodate and present Greek naval traditions, especially those of Crete, which constitute a part of the national glory. The Museum is the second maritime one in antiquity in Greece, after the Maritime Museum of Greece in Piraeus.
Visit the wonderful Naval Museum (Maritime Museum) - it delivers a superb introduction to the History of Crete and is by no means only for maritime mavens, you will learn more here in half an hour than most could teach you, about the events that filled Crete's moving past.
