Tupper & Reed

A two-level Berkeley cocktail bar features ornate gothic and storybook architecture. It’s upbeat and casual downstairs, where you can watch local sports—I’ve definitely cheered on the Warriors and Giants a few times at this spot. Daniel Sheel and DJ Mull have done a great job making this bar one of the best places to be in the East Bay! There’s live music on Thursdays with local artists and frequent events such as Southern Fried Sundays, a pop up with snacks like fried chicken sliders. It’s also one of the few Berkeley bars to have a pool table.

Reminiscent of a rustic swiss chalet with dash of modern - great atmosphere for chatting and tasty cocktails.

One of Berkeley’s most remarkable examples of Storybook-style architecture. Berkeley boasts no fewer than six designated landmarks in this style: Fox Court, Tupper & Reed Building (both listed in the National Register of Historic Places), Normandy Village, Fox Common, Berteaux Cottage (aka Fox Cottage), and G. Paul Bishop Studio—all built in the 1920s and ’30s.

Classy cocktails in Downtown Berkeley. Great location for avoiding the "college scene". Rotating/seasonal cocktail menu. Love Tupper & Reed for pre or post dinner drinks.
