Take in the adventure of world-class white river rafting and the epic scenery of Gunnison Gorge, a quick two-hour drive from Palisade.
This place is sprawling with difficult hiking trails into the Gunnison Gorge, the land feature that is after the Black Canyon on the Gunnison's river descent to the ocean! I will recommend trying Duncan Road. You will need AWD at least to get through the road, but the hike is dog friendly and totally worth it (in cooler weather)! Otherwise, there is SO many off-road trails and ATV trails, you can spend full days in Peach Valley OHV Park!

GUNNISON GORGE Below pleasure park is another gorge seperate from the black canyon that is slightly more accessible but requires 4WD and a bit of hiking. It isn’t as tough as the canyon to access so it may be a good option if you aren’t up for a brutal hike. Fish are large in this section as well and fishing is great!
