The central post office is open on weekends/holidays as well. The ATM machines are available 24 hours a day and they accept foreign credit cards :)

If you get more than 52yen stamp, they'll stamp special view stamp on your post card or letter. But you need to ask them, "Fukei-in wo onegai shimasu" :)
