Go with the flow of the ocean, wie man so sagt ;). SCHNORCHELGUIDES: Stephan, Martin, Haydn, John & Daniela

Intuitive Mandala- & Seelenmalerei
Everyone is creative in some way and this process encourages the expression of that. Ideal for anyone – experienced to beginner – to play, explore and reconnect to their inner wonder child. Give yourself time off to silence your mind and breathe - no expected outcome, no judgment, no need to get it right - just a chance to relax into playing with art making materials, and listening to the messages from your soul. We start with a mindful meditation and connection to self, learning how to follow your body's way of saying yes and no. Then using that information you select the place to create, the instruments and materials to use. There will be guidelines on how to move away from that loud inner critic and keep creating so that you can create something that may truly surprise you. This is not Art Therapy … This is Creativity Ignition!
Kintsugi-Japanese art of putting broken pottery together
Join me for a morning of mindfulness for an introduction to the Japanese Art of Kintsugi. This centuries old art form is filled with many philosophical lessons and can be viewed as a metaphor for healing ourselves by embracing our own flaws and imperfections. Traditional Kintsugi can take months to complete. In this 3.5 hour workshop I’ll share contemporary methods to practice and apply on any ceramics that need to be mended to allow you to repair and restore into something unique and resilient rather than dispose of. During the 3.5 hours there will be time to order off our menu and enjoy our delish Dimsum (dumplings, Bao buns, Springrolls and won ton as well as rice / noodle dishes). Booking essential as space is limited. What to expect: A morning of mindfulness at our Traditional Teahouse to learn the traditional Japanese art of Kintsugi and to apply this to a ceramic of your own that needs to be repaired. What to bring: A ceramic of your own like a vase/pot plant holder/bowl etc that is either broken in half or with 2 - 4 pieces broken off. Please note the technique I will share uses gold leaf / gold powder that is not food grade safe. If you don’t have a ceramic to use - you’re welcome to purchase a ceramic from us. We'll meet at the Nature Reserve in Modderfontein. We'll travel down a long narrow road where we will stop to take a few pictures. We'll then follow the road which leads us to a rustic stone bridge that has a little river flowing under which is surrounded by lots of exotic flowers. We'll hop out and take a few more pictures here while we enjoy the tranquil sound of the river. We'll then drive into the reserve and down a stoney road which opens up into this beautiful tranquil lake that overlooks the reserve. This will be our last stop where we will completely embrace what Mother Nature has given us. Other things to note It is very normal to feel nervous for a photoshoot. The important thing to remember is to be yourself. Make sure you wear something comfortable and something you feel comfortable wearing. R40 per person to enter the reserve

We meet on the corner of Wychwood Avenue and Carnoustie Crescent, Millpark. From there we veer down a single track, cross the valley floor to ascent a few un steep little hills. Wading through the water is an alternative option at this point, the water is about a meter deep. There are more hills and exciting single track. Duck down under thick vegetation canopies and down rocky hills and breath-catching uphill.

Iyengar yoga classes
I teach yoga to beginners as well as established yoga practitioners. There are four unique aspects of the lyengar system by which it can be distinguished from other systems of yoga. 1. The precision of alignment in the asana practice; correct body alignment not only minimises the possibility of injuries, but also ensures steady development of balance, coordination and improvement of posture. 2. Sequencing helps you obtain greater penetration and understanding. 3. Timing. Poses are held longer to allow for attention to precise alignment and for the benefits of the asana to penetrate. In addition, holding poses builds core strength and endurance. 4. The use of equipment. BKS Iyengar is perhaps best known for his innovative use of very simple aids, including wooden blocks, foams, belts, chairs, blankets and bolsters, which allow everyone to benefit no matter their age or physical disabilities in a safe and effective manner. These four aspects of the lyengar system are all integrated and develop strength and endurance, improve posture and concentration in addition to increasing flexibility and quietening the mind to promote well-being.
