Philip Simmons was a master blacksmith who created many of the gates and iron work you see in Charleston, he was also a gentle soul that I always wanted to meet but never got a chance before he passed away at 97. The Foundation has a commemorative garden that preserves some of his work.

This 200 year old Fort went through two battles, the Revolutionary War and the Civil War and it's located next to my favorite part of the beach where you can watch the cargo ships and Shrimp boats pass through the deep waters on their way to Charleston. It's a cool $3 dollar entrance fee to talk a walk around.

It's a cool $3 dollar entrance fee to talk a walk around.
