Whitley Bay has a Blue Flag award winning beach stretching 3 miles long. You can enjoy a stroll along the promenade then up onto the links and carry on to St Mary's Lighthouse where you can take the steps to enjoy the amazing views from the top.

Blue Reef Aquarium is amazing for families. You will be thrilled by the amount of creatures they have. You can also see the Seals being fed and certain times of the day. Situated along the seafront towards Tynemouth. If you don't want to drive you can get the metro and get off a Cullercoats just a 7 minute walk from there.

St Marys Island is great for families with kids as it has its own nature reserved with lots of rockpools to explore and maybe spot a seal or some dolphins. There is a small cafe and souvenir shop on the island.

Tynemouth castle is located on a rocky headland, overlooking Tynemouth pier. The moated castle towers, gatehouse and keep are combined with the ruins of the Benedictine priory where early kings of Northumbria were buried.
