Neighborhoods
A great neighborhood to visit is Ballard. It is about 4 miles SW of here. In the heart of Ballard there is a downtown full of shops, bars, restaurants, coffee, theaters and more. Check out Sabine if you are looking for a unique brunch spot.
Just West of downtown are the Ballard locks and salmon ladder. And a bit further on the coast is Golden Gardens. It is a beautiful spot to stop and hang on the beach.

Fremont is a quirky little neighborhood known as the "Center of the Universe". Pick up one of the walking tour pamphlets to learn where you can find a troll, an actual rocket, part of the Berlin Wall and Gas Works Park. There is a great walk along the canal that will get you to the park. Great views of the city. Additionally if you walk between Fremont and Ballard there are a ton of breweries you can hit up on the way. Fremont also has some great Bars and restaurants. Check out Red Star if you would like tacos or Talaricos Fremont if you want some giant pizza slices and pool. On the fancier end, Rasai is a great new Indian fusion place and Revel is a great Korean fusion place for brunch and dinner.
One of Seattle's best coffee shops is in North Fremont as well, Lighthouse Coffee.

Sightseeing
Can't think of Seattle without Pike Place Market. The market is a must see. Also, just down from the Market is the famous gum wall. If you are looking for more in that area, the Can Can is a super unique bar. If there is a burlesque show going on you may not be able to get in without tickets. Zig-Zag is also a famous local spot to visit just down from the Market. And the Alibi Room is an all time local favorite as well.

This place has a great view of the city, and costs only a fraction of what you would pay to go up into the space needle. There is also a bar you can visit as well while visiting the top.

This is a really cool thing to do if you have some people to join you. You can rent these little boats and tool around lake union. You can go from lake Union all the way to the locks. You can plug in your own music, bring your own cocktails, and tie up to docks to stop and have dinner. Super fun. Up to 10 people, three hour minimum. There are even clear windows to lower on rainy Seattle days.

City/town information
If you are road tripping and want a unique Bavarian village to visit, I recommend Leavenworth. This is a cute little Bavarian town which has a lot to offer in warm and cold months. Nestled in the mountains and along a river. Very quaint for sure.

Summer fun
My home is in Haller Lake and the lake is walking distance (about a half mile away). There is a public entrance on 125th st just east of Densmore. It is great for floating in the summer. I have floats and pumps available for rental if you are interested.

If you have the time and want an all day river float, check out Falls City. You can simply show up (by appointment during the pandemic) and they will provide you with transportation, floats, even coolers if you want to rent. It is a beautiful float. I recommend during June and July as it gets a little chilly later in the season.

Hands down one of the local's favorite sandwich places. Highly recommend for lunch. There is even a secret beach entrance across the street. Grab a sandwich, walk through the parking lot at the Elk's Lodge, and the entrance is just South of the Lodge.
