Newly Built! Lido Village is very high end retail and restaurants. Nobu restaurant is the anchor with great retail spots like Warby Parker for sunglasses.
Lido Bottleworks has a great tapas selection with assorted West Coast beer and Zinque has quality wines to choose from. Zinque does live music most nights after 7pm. You can't beat the view of the marina. Rent a Duffy and cruise over. Public Dock is accessible.

At the bottom of the peninsula is a great area with a ferris wheel, arcade, boutique clothes stores, and a great area to just walk around and enjoy the weather. About a 45 minute bike ride from the house...makes a great day!

Rent a Duffy and cruise around the Harbor! These electric boats were invented here in Newport Beach...you can rent by the hour, bring food and drinks, and cruise around looking at the mansions on the water. Want to bar hop a little? Look for public dock signs (blue and white striped lighthouse) and you can tie up for free. Some restaurants have docks for you to pull up to : Woody's Wharf, The Cannery, Lido Marina Village, Light House Retaurant (at the park), or The Dock. You can usually fit up to 8 people on a Duffy...sometimes 10. I recommend this as a daytime activity since you are driving the boat. Be aware of tides. Some bridges you can't go under at high tide.

Stand up paddle boarding is only second to surfing here in Newport Beach but it doesn't take any experience to be able to do it. Rent from these guys so you have better access to the bay side where there aren't any waves. You can use the dock or sand access on the bay to get in (any sandy spots you see you can use to get in, no trespassing issues). Fair warning...The boards are very heavy!

The Wedge is a nationally acclaimed best body surf spot and photographed in pretty much all surf mags. The Jetty is positioned just right that the tide creates a wave that is optimal for some of the most adventurous body surfing successes! PLEASE, if you are not an advanced body surfer, stay OUT and just watch. It is very dangerous and challenging but fun to watch. There are lifeguards there pretty much everyday. If you see it black-balled STAY OUT and off the rocks! People die there every year. Go in the mornings when the waves are best and the body surfers are out.

If you have young kids (ages 2-10) then this is a destination! For some mornings during the week its $10 for 4 hours of fun jumping around in gigantic bouncy houses. There are 2 separate rooms so when they get bored with the first ones, they get introduced to the second. Check out their calendar for free play times. Look for Glow Jump or Open Jump on the schedule for when you can go. Under 2 years old is a little hard for the kids, but free and allowed.

Parks & Nature
Less crowded and more natural than our beach by our house. You can load up the bikes and pedal around on the miles of trails or go eat at the Beach Comber Restaurant on the sand (reservations suggested).

Locals have been getting their coffee and bagels from Mr. Lee and his wife for the last 20+ years. I recommend the "everything special" its an open faced everything bagel with avocado, tomato and lemon pepper sprinkled on top. Take it to the beach and it eat it while watching the waves to get the full experience!

Arts & Culture
The Festival of the Arts has lots of events throughout the year, but the one not to miss is the Pageant of the Masters. Its in the spring/summer. If you've never heard of it, its pretty unique. They put on a display of live people in paintings. You can't tell which is a live person or part of the classic artpiece until they move. Best to sit in the middle rows, not in the front or back, for the best perspective. Buy your tickets in advance as they sell out. This is outdoors in the Laguna Beach Canyon so bring a sweater for the later shows.
