When you play tejo, Colombia’s national sport, you toss metal discs at a target loaded with gunpowder packets—just imagine the explosion when you hit the mark! Join a young historian for a little tejo history and some practice rounds of your new favorite sport. • We’ll meet at Tejo La Embajada, a bar with dedicated tejo courts, where I’ll order local craft beers for us. • I’ll share the history of tejo, which Colombia’s Indigenous people, the Muiscas, invented before the Spanish conquest. Despite being banned, Indigenous communities kept tejo alive. • I’ll walk you through the rules of tejo and we’ll spend the next hour playing. You’ll leave this relaxed, fun introduction eager to keep playing tejo, with a keen insight into Colombian traditions.

From towering yarumo trees to the bustling Plaza de Paloquemao, explore Bogotá’s unique culture through playful illustration exercises. This two-hour workshop is not about perfect technique—it’s about creativity, storytelling, and reimagining the city’s most ordinary yet iconic features. • Begin with a tour of the Casatinta arts center, known as Colombia’s home of illustration and graphics. I’ll give insights into my creative process and lead an interactive discussion where you can share your observations of the city’s animals, plants, and places. • Building on our collective inspiration list, we’ll do some word associations and creative play, then turn those concepts into comic strips combining humor, imagination, and Bogotá’s cultural essence. No drawing experience necessary! • Finally, we’ll share and discuss our work, alongside reflections on how art can reshape perspectives and deepen cultural connections. You’ll leave with your illustrations as unique souvenirs of your time in Bogotá, having found unexpected stories in the city and turned them into something completely your own.

Paint a Colombian floral still life in Bogotá

Ditch the rules and paint with instinct in a hands-on still-life session inspired by Colombia’s native blooms. Join me in my Bogotá studio, where you’ll use movement, color, and intuition to cocreate a floral artwork that captures energy over perfection. • Start with a grounding circle, setting intentions and writing words of inspiration directly onto the blank canvas. Observe the shapes, textures, and energies of the Colombian flowers. • Next, awaken your senses with movement exercises and an herbal tea blend brewed to heighten creativity. • Together, you’ll layer intuitive brushstrokes to cocreate the painting, bringing the essence of each bloom to life. • Lastly, embrace the art of letting go, cutting the canvas into equal pieces so everyone takes home part of our shared creation. You’ll leave with a piece of artwork infused with emotion, memory, and the beauty of Colombian flora. I kindly invite you to bring a personal object that you would like to include in the still life.

Nachtleben in Bogota

Let’s go partying in Bogota! Do you want to experience the best party scene in Latin America? Well, we'll take you to explore the vibrant nightlife of Zona Rosa, the party epicenter in Bogotá. We'll be waiting for you at the first stop, a craft beer pub to get you started with a tasting of local beers (If beer isn’t your thing, you can choose a shot of a local liquor). At this pub we’ll stay for about an hour having the chance to meet the rest of the group, while enjoying your drink. After breaking the ice with all the travelers, we will walk to an unusual and fun bar, where you can enjoy a cocktail, while getting to know better the other travelers creating real connections during the night. When the group already feels like a group of friends hanging out, we’ll head to two different nightclubs with “crossover music” which means they’ll play a little bit of everything so everyone can enjoy some dancing. The nightclubs we visit are some of the most popular among locals, so you can really feel the local vibe and dance until your body lets you. Does the plan sound good to you? First of all, an small introduction about ourselfs, our culture and explain all about the 5 different regions of Colombia. Then we go to try the most authentic dish of the Capital, Ajiaco. Then we got a surprise from the Orinoquia region! After that, the next restaurant is specialized in pacific coast food and for sure we cant forget our Caribbean region. Next step is tamal from the south of Colombia, one of the most representative ones. If you are still hungry, not worries, we will have more restaurants to visit! 7 in total. This is a real and deep gastronomical experience where we eat and learn. Remember, ALL THE FOOD IS INCLUDED, you dont have to pay extra money! This is a FLEXIBLE experience, restaurants may change (we have more options in case some of our friend restaurants are closed or people want to try other exotic plates) Vegeterians are more than welcome! Other things to note We are going to all restaurants by walking. All of it are located in a walkable distance in one of the most beautiful districts in Bogota, la Candelaria.

Ausritt in die kolumbianischen Anden

Breathe fresh mountain air and feel the energy of Colombian horses on this one-of-a-kind day. We’ll meet at 8 a.m. in Unicentro mall, located in the north of Bogota. From there we will go to my mountain home (1h30 min drive). You will enjoy the beautiful landscapes, traditional food, and amazing cultural experience. We’ll ride horseback along the Andes and take in the gorgeous scenery, native forests, and great sight of Lake El Sisga, all of it inside my ranch, which makes it a really safe ride without any vehicle different than my horses. For lunch, we’ll eat authentic dishes cooked in a wood stove, it's beautiful. We will have some colommbian coffee and then play a game of Tejo before we head back to Bogotá. Along the way, you can take it easy and commune with nature as you bond with your Colombian steed. Other things to note This activity takes a whole day, and you'll return to Bogotá around 5 - 5:30 pm. It is a must if you really want to experience Colombia's soul. Our goal with COP16 As part of our goal with biodiversity, we have reforested with 6.000 native trees, with the only goal of protecting our water sources and bringing back biodiversity of high Andean forest. Experience also birdwatching at our ranch! Traffic in Bogota is not always the best, so try to leave with enough time. We have a max waiting time of 20 min. Max weight 115 kg.
