Matters Schoolhouse in Decorah, Iowa

Relax in this 2 story renovated schoolhouse. Basically new build with all the charm and many historical facts of the schoolhouse. Full kitchen includes everything needed for cooking. Expandable dining table can seat 1O and open concept dining, living and kitchen. It has a king bedroom on the upper level with full bath. In the basement a queen bedroom and full bath, then a bunk area for 3 in the tv area that also includes a pullout queen sofa. Enjoy the huge deck, farmland view, and walking path.

Heavenly Nest Getaway

Beautiful, cozy space with abundant natural light! We designed this getaway with relaxation and comfort in mind! An upstairs apartment in downtown Decorah. The large living room has the comfort of an electric fireplace, TV, Wi-Fi and lots of natural light. A dining room that will seat 6, a galley kitchen and the comfort of the den with a sofa sleeper that makes into a queen bed and a glider rocker. The bedroom has a TV, queen size bed and much comfort. Bathroom is a full bath. Pack and play.

Footbridge Farm Cabin

Footbridge Farm is a quiet country get-away located on 90 wooded acres, 15 miles NE of Decorah. We are close to the mouth of Canoe Creek, the Upper Iowa River and adjacent to state DNR land. The cozy owner-built cabin has an open ceiling with exposed beams and rafters giving a sense of spaciousness. Local stone was used in the exterior walls and the floor-to-ceiling fire back behind the wood-burning stove. The floors are oak and slate. Detailed craftsmanship can be found throughout the cabin.

Fox Hollow Lodge

Epic location in pristine Decorah Iowa: 20 Acres set off gravel roads in the gorgeous hills of the Driftless Area, 15 minutes to the heart of downtown where you'll find top notch craft beer, Decorah’s famous bike trail, the Upper Iowa river, and great restaurants. The location of the lodge itself is very private and will give you a sense of peace and freedom. Access to trails through the woods and a large fire pit area out in the yard can keep you entertained without ever leaving the property!

All-new kitchen, dining room, and living area. 3 Bedrooms, one on each floor, make blending "together time" and quiet time easy. Board games, laundry, separate office, BBQ grill. Large covered side-patio area for kayaks/canoes, bikes, waders & fishing gear. Basement bedroom has exterior door exit. Amenities & gourmet coffee beans.

The Carriage House at Walnut Hill Farm

New construction finished in Spring 2023, this well-appointed space prioritizes the comfort of every guest. The open-concept living area boasts vaulted ceilings with locally and sustainably sourced pine arches. Custom windows maximize the views of Walnut Hill Farm. There are amenities throughout including a proprietary coffee blend. There are four private bedrooms, a chef's kitchen, indoor & outdoor dining spaces, comfortable living room seating, two and 1/2 bathrooms, and off street parking.

Cedar Bluff Cabin

Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. This log home, located on 6.5 acres, offers a few days away from the hustle of everyday life. The loft is where the master bed and bath are located. The second bedroom / bath are located on the first floor. The unfinished basement offers an area to workout on the elliptical machine and weight bench. Relax during the evening hours on the back patio, gathered around the fire pit. TV's are located in the living room, basement, and kitchen.

Family-friendly historic home that is walkable to downtown. With 3 upstairs BRs and 3 full BAs (2 up, 1 main), The Winneshiek House sleeps 9 people in 2 king and 5 twin beds. Little ones are welcomed by a standard crib and kids will enjoy the upstairs lounge and secret reading nook. Enjoy the open living and dining areas, 3-season porch and patio with fire pit and patio heater (available seasonally). Detached garage available for a vehicle, bikes or kayaks. Grocery is 1/2 block away.
