(Please, be sure to read ALL of our house guidelines before booking. Your rate is based on the number of occupants, our homes are for use by registered, paid guests only) Our house is your house. The location is central to everything. Public transportation within walking distance. Shopping, restaurants,bars, yoga you name it, within your reach. This is perfect for a short stay or long/term. This house was completely renovated from top to bottom less than a year ago. It looks old, but everything is new and fresh. Top of the line appliances, including new washer and dryer for your use. PLEASE NOTE: WE CHARGE $35 EXTRA FOR USE OF SOFA BED IF YOU HAVE 4 GUESTS OR LESS. Our 4 guest included charge assumes to beds upstairs used. Our Airbnb rating relies on proper communication and accuracy with guest counts and reviews. If you have an issue during a stay that would result in anything less than a 5 star review, we expect you to message us regarding it. It it's not important enough for you to make us aware, we will be disappointed that you lay it out in a review. We have a lot of properties and a team that soley runs these and puts forth their best to make our houses your "homes"-please respect that and realize that little things like bringing in extra guests without notifying costs our housekeepers and extra hour of work to flip extra beds. We get that things happen, just please inform us. Each member of our team has families of their own and work 7 days a week as schedules dictate. Majority of our guests have been amazing, but we have had a few really rotten ones and it isn't fun to deal with. We aren't kidding when we say we would rather have a vacancy than crabby people :). Thank you to those of you who get it and treat our team respectfully and honestly. You will have the entire home and outdoor space. Please respect locked doors or cabinets and anything marked private. General rule, if you didn't buy it, please leave it be. The LL is unfinished, but has a full size washer and dryer for guest use -other than that, there is no reason for guests to be down there and we kindly ask that you refrain from exploring :) The only reason you can stay at our house is because we aren't here. However, our amazing friend is on-call 24/7 to guide and assist you as needed. We will be messaging you to check-in, please respond This home is located in an upscale Birmingham neighborhood a mile from downtown, which has the feel of a big city with shopping and fabulous dining. Walk to downtown and easily reach anywhere in the Detroit metropolitan area. A quick 25 min from Detroit Metro Airport. Easy to use public transportation or get an Uber or Lyft car. It is also a very walkable area. We strive for 5 star reviews and we want to give you one in return. Please, communicate! We have our amazing host on-call just for you-let us know what you need. This house is in the city and on a busy street. You will need to pull in and out of traffic (during rush hour) to access the driveway. We recently had a guest rate us less than 5 because they didn't feel we accurately informed them that there is traffic in the city and on a busy road, this is one out of our control and one thing we naively assumed everyone understood when driving in the city:( use caution when pulling into our driveway and please do NOT back out into traffic, but use the large drive area to turn around and safely exit the property.

Edgewater Glen Suite in Historical Home

Step into a soothing space in this inviting guest apartment. The space features an open-concept living area and kitchen, a repointed brick masonry wall, contrasting dark surfaces and stark whites, bright wood flooring, and eclectic furnishings. Conveniently located near public transportation, beautiful beaches, boutique shops of edgewater/ Andersonville, great restaurants and Loyola University! Enjoy the elements of a luxury hotel but the feel of a home away from home. The entire suite is all to yourself. It feels like a single family home since you have no one above or below you. We have a lovely front porch with chairs to sit outside and watch the world go by as well as a nice front yard which you are welcome to bring chairs down to and enjoy! We are likely to run into each other as we enter and exit our house but besides that we can be as available as you need! We are right next door so if there are any needs we are easy to reach by phone, text or a quick knock on the door. We do have two friendly golden retrievers that frequent the front yard. Please reach out in advance if you have any allergies/issues with dogs. The neighborhood is lively, safe, family-friendly, and beautiful. People around here take great pride in their homes with beautiful landscaping all over. It is a diverse area and a great place to explore on foot. The easiest way to get here from the airport is uber/rideshare/taxi. It is usually about 35-45 minute by car. However you could also take the CTA blue line downtown and catch a red line to get up to our home. For reference it is 35 minute by train and 15 minute by car from Michigan Avenue/Water Tower place. If you chose to drive here/have a car there is a lot of parking in the area on the street. We are located .2 miles (4 minute walk) from the Granville train (red line), 15 minutes to two beautiful beaches on Lake Michigan and have plenty of boutique shops, restaurants, antique stores and neighborhood cafe's/coffee shops in within a few block radius. There is no parking included in the stay but the streets around us have plenty of non-permit parking available. Please note Granville is free and no permit required as well as on Lakewood and Hood south of Granville. North of Granville is permit required from 4PM-8AM so make sure to look for permit signs. Visiting Loyola? We are a 10 minute walk from campus! Looking to head to the hip neighborhood of Andersonville? It’s a 25 minute walk/ 1 mile south filled with great nightlife, restaurants and shopping (both budget friendly and high-end)! We are happy to share all our favorite spots to shop and eat around the neighborhood and the city! We live in the house attached with our 2 golden retrievers so please be aware that they will be nearby. They are very friendly! Access: The house is three stories tall (no elevator) and going up a stoop is required for access. Pantry: We will provide drip coffee and espresso, along with basic staples (sugar, salt, pepper, olive oil, etc). Home cooks will love using our bright, fully equipped kitchen. Multiple grocery stores are blocks away (Target, Jewel, Aldi) for your kitchen needs. Baths: We have 3.5 baths, each stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and hand soap. Bath towels and hand towels will be provided. You'll have access to the whole house, garden, and parking. We will not be on-site but will stay blocks away while you are here, so we can be as present (or absent) as you need us to be. One neighborhood over from Wrigleyville, home to the storied Chicago Cubs, Uptown is well-connected to downtown Chicago, Evanston and served by the recently renovated Wilson train stop and Lake Shore Drive. On the shores of Lake Michigan, Uptown is one of Chicago's most ethnically and socioeconomically diverse neighborhoods. The home is also close to some of the best Vietnamese, Ethiopian, Chinese, and Pakistani food in town. There are tons of music venues a quick walk from the house. We are located two blocks away from the newly renovated Wilson Red and Purple line train stop. The #151 bus also stops right in front of the house, and we are within walking distance of multiple bus lines. A/C available in common areas year round, with window units installed in bedrooms from May 15 to October 15. Radiant heat in entire house for Chicago's famous winters.

There’s venues, studios, and bars booming with more culture all only blocks away. Uber / Lyft is a great way to get anywhere quick - usually a 15 min ride to downtown. Public transit options are the CTA El Train (Pink Line 18th stop is 0.7 mile walk from our house) or CTA Bus (18th & Racine stop is a block away). Once you’re at the transit stop both options take about a 20 - 30 minute to downtown. There are other bus lines nearby that take you other places (i.e. McCormick Place) - feel free to ask us for help when you arrive. Street parking is free in certain areas for those who are driving. Please message us and we’ll direct you where to park. We are a 20 minute cab ride from Midway International Airport and 40 minutes from O'Hare without heavy traffic, double these estimates if traffic is heavy (rush hour, accidents, etc).
