Jum Rum Place, Kuranda QLD

Kuranda, home to the Indigenous Djabugay people is tucked away within an ancient Rainforest. Jum Rum Place is located only 1.6km from the Kuranda village, North Queensland backing onto Jum Rum Creek Conservation Park where there are numerous species of birds, Striped possums, Suger Gliders, Pademelons with abundance of butterflies including the Ulysses and Cairns Bird Wing. The beautiful Jum Rum Creek Walking Track is close by which takes you into the Kuranda Village, only a 15 minute walk.

Nestled just behind the Sea Temple Resort & positioned at the side of our luxury home is a lovely little space for a solo traveller (Male or Female). The Guest Suite is surrounded by the Rainforest mountains and a short 10min stroll will have you at the famous Seaside Resort Town of Palm Cove. From here you can spend your days relaxing on the beach under a palm tree, taking a kayak tour over to Double Is, hiking the new Wangetti Trail or visiting the many cafe’s, shops & pretty boutique's.

Casa Kuranda in the Rainforest

Our serene abode is a 5 min drive or a pleasant 30-40 min stroll to the picturesque village of Kuranda and the mighty Barron Falls. Your private quarters contain a kitchenette, bathroom and sizeable comfortable bedroom. On the deck you can sit peacefully, relax and observe the native wildlife; red-legged pademelons, brush turkeys and small reptiles. You will be delighted with the chorus of bird song and take great pleasure in sighting vibrantly colourful tropical birdlife and butterflies.

Singing Birds

Unwind in our peaceful self-contained guesthouse, set on 3 acres of tranquil greenery. Wake to the sound of native birdsong, cool off in the pool, and enjoy the chance to spot red-legged pademelons, striped possums and all the other wildlife surrounding the guesthouse. The guesthouse is private, comfortable, and perfectly located for exploring Cairns, Kuranda, Mareeba and the Atherton Tablelands. We live in the main house on the property and are happy to assist if needed.

A private and self contained guest unit, detached from to the main house with It’s own private entrance. It also has a private undercover area directly under the guest unit. Quite secluded location with elevated 180 degree views. Caravonica is a central location to a number of attractions around the Cairns area. You can walk to Lake Placid or Skyrail and only a short drive to Kuranda Rail at Freshwater. You can drive to Kuranda or Cairns City in twenty minutes.
