The Gurler House

Welcome to Downtown DeKalb’s most charming and highly-rated historic stay! This beautifully restored home offers both modern comfort and vintage charm. The Gurler House, built in 1857, is on the National Register of Historic Places. This lovingly updated home sits back in a gorgeous park-like setting surrounded by nature. While nestled in a peaceful neighborhood, it is only 2 blocks from the Egyptian Theatre and all the downtown shops and restaurants and only a couple minutes away from NIU.

Come stay in our carriage house turned guest house!, the property has a swimming pool available during swimming season, which is June thru September. a separate Hot Tub and new BBQ for your private use; please indicate if you intend to use the pool during your stay, we need an hours notice to remove the cover; the hot tub is always ready to use. You will be sure to enjoy the proximity to restaurants, shopping in Ottawa, parks such as Starved Rock, and a variety of festivals.

A perfect place for a relaxing getaway, family reunion, baby or bridal shower and even golf enthusiasts! With 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, 6 beds, and a pull out sofa bed, it sleeps up to 12. Enjoy the large front deck, fire pit, fireplace, high ceilings, and large gathering room. Catch a glimpse of the the deer early in the morning and at sundown. Our guests have raved about their stay!
