This is a small, local venue that does a little bit of everything, from readings and local author Q & As to amazing jazz and jam sessions. The food is good. The drinks range from espresso to kumbucha to beer! The space is intimate.

This is fancy, quickly becoming international pour over doesn't need milk. They sell unusual and hard-to-get beans which make great "I thought of you on my trip" gifts for the coffee lover in your life. With only an open space setting area, it is more for chatting and people watching. No wifi. Don't think about ordering tea; I have tried, they just give you a look for a while.

Not a fancy atmosphere, but delicious Thai food and friendly service at a good value. I recommend the garlic rice and the pumpkin curry.

Wat Mongkolratanaram is a small Thai Buddhist temple located in Berkeley, California that serves a Sunday brunch that is all the things. The temple is available for use (just remember to be quiet and remove your shoes) but there is also a school and other connected facilities. The brunch is served in outdoor spaces, with table and open grass. As the brunch is growing in popularity so I would strongly recommend getting there before 10:30am.
