Its a great park to see on your way in or out of Felton as it is off Hwy 9 and offers a different way to access the San Lorenzo valley than the typical drive over Highway 17.

Great creek hike for walking or running. It's heavily treed enough that it is even good for hiking when raining lightly.

This is a great beach for tide pools when the tide is low (check Monterey Bay tides here: http://www.tides4fishing.com/us/california/santa-cruz-monterey-bay#_tides).
Also, Monarch Butterflies nest here in winter as part of their migration from British Columbia to Mexico.
And, it's a great beach in summer with easy parking (State Park fee at the gate: but, if you've paid for Henry Cowell or Big Basin: the pass allows you in the same day at any other state park).
